Greetings,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and you are excited for the week ahead. I have a couple of quick reminders to alleviate questions and concerns about this week.
First, we apologize for any errors made last week with student attendance. As your student probably told you, we are piloting a new attendance system, and with any new system, glitches take place. It is NOT our intent to negatively impact a student’s attendance. In fact, it is just the opposite. We have identified the cause of the problem and we are working to fix any errors. If your student was mistakenly marked absent last week, and the error is not fixed by the middle of this week, please let me know. We will gladly fix it.
On Thursday, September 5, Mannion will host Open House starting at 6 PM. Parents will have the opportunity to walk through their students’ schedule (be sure to bring a copy with you) and meet all of the teachers. Each class will be 10 minutes in length with 5 minutes of passing. Please arrive early (parking is rough) and wear comfortable shoes (parking can be far). Be sure to bring cash so you can visit the Book Fair and purchase a pair of Mannion socks (1 pair = $10). Also, consider participating in our Supply Drive by bringing school supplies to the classroom teachers to show your appreciation.
This Friday, September 6, is jersey & hat day. Students may wear shirts and hats of any sports team to show their spirit. Hats will be permitted as long as they represent an athletic team.
Finally, take a few minutes after reading this email to make sure your student has his or her lanyard/ID in his or her backpack so it is not forgotten at home. Students are doing a great job wearing their school lanyards/IDs and we want this trend to continue.
Again, I look forward to seeing many of you at Open House on Thursday!
Go Mustangs!
