Greetings,
30 years ago, just out of college, I accepted a teaching position at Green Valley High School to start my career as an educator. This path led me to Mannion Middle School where I have proudly served as the principal for the past 10 years. On September 3, 2026, my career in education will come to an end as I will be retiring from the Clark County School District.
As the process to hire a new principal will launch in the days and weeks ahead, I need to assure the Mannion community that I am committed to a smooth transition of leadership. By completing this school year and opening the next one, I can provide the staff, students, and parents with a seamless transition that prioritizes the needs of our community. While the new principal takes the time to learn what makes Mannion Middle School such a unique and special place, the school will continue to move forward through a joint effort of our hard working students and supportive families as well as the unwavering efforts of our school’s team of assistant principals, experienced teachers, caring office staff, and dedicated support professionals. Mannion’s success has always been, and always will be, the result of this unique combination and collaboration.
I am proud of Mannion’s accomplishments over the past decade. The school’s success in academics, athletics, arts, and activities is the result of hard work, and in my final few months as principal I will continue to work as hard as ever. I hope you have come to expect nothing less from me.
Go Mustangs!
Todd Petersen, Principal
