Greetings,
Last week was great. We are really starting to see the students reacclimate to the routine of being in the school building, and we appreciate their efforts. I know everyone is excited for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend (No School on September 6, 2021), but before we can celebrate our first 3-day weekend, a few reminders for this week:
Daily Home Health Screenings:
Parents must check their students for the following each morning prior to sending students to school. If your student shows any signs indicated below, keep the student home and contact your medical provider for guidance.
- Cough
- Chills
- Sore Throat
- Muscle Pain
- Fever 100° or Higher
- Shortness of Breath or
- Difficulty Breathing
- New Loss of Taste or Smell
- Congestion
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Runny Nose
- Nausea/Vomiting
- Diarrhea
We are seeing students come to school, and in less than an hour, students report to their teachers that they are not feeling well. When a student demonstrates or reports any of the above signs, the Health Office staff must isolate the student and the student must be sent home. We realize that many of these symptoms may not be attributed to Covid, but we do not have the luxury of taking such chances. Please, if your student has any of these symptoms, please keep them home and have the student follow along with the learning via their teacher’s Canvas page. If the symptoms continue, it is best to contact your healthcare provider.
Remember, our priority is to keep our students and teachers in the physical building as this provides the best conditions for quality instruction and academic growth. To do this, we need your help!
Annual Health Forms (Previously the Blue Forms):
Health Services has created an electronic version of the traditional blue Student Health Information form. Due to Covid-19, the Health Office will not be sending out paper copies. Please click on the link provided below to complete the survey with medical information about your student:
Student Attendance Procedures:
If your student is going to be absent (for any reason), please do not call the school to notify us of the absence. To officially communicate an absence to the school, we require notification in writing. There are two options to complete that request:
- Drop off a note in the main office. Upon the student returning to school, have the student drop off a medical or parent note in the main office or the Student Success Office. Be sure to print clearly and include the student’s name and dates of the absence. Also, include a parent signature and explanation so we are able to excuse the absence.
- Submit an absence note via the school website. Be sure to submit the notification from an email address associated with the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus.
Staff Development Day on September 13, 2021:
There will be No School for CCSD students on Monday, September 6 (Labor Day) and Monday, September 13 (Staff Development Day). Please plan accordingly.
In the weeks ahead I hope to provide additional information regarding clubs and activities taking place on campus, procedures for the Scholastic Book Fair, and important information about tryouts for our upcoming flag football season (physicals are required, so if your student plans to try out, please schedule the physical now).
As always, our team is here to support you and your student in any way that we can.
Go Mustangs!
