Greetings,
Parents of students who plan to participate in basketball or table tennis at Mannion Middle School in the 2026-2027 school year must complete the online forms required for participating in middle school athletics. Please see the information below regarding this process as well as information about tryouts and athletic eligibility for the upcoming basketball season.
Registration for Student-Athletes
Students who plan to try out for basketball, table tennis, soccer, or volleyball in the 2026-2027 school year must be registered online by a parent through aktivate.com. Please see the Aktivate Student-Athlete Registration Instructions guide for more information.
A sports physical is required for all students before participating in tryouts. The CCSD Physical Form can be downloaded here or within Aktivate. Several health centers and hospitals in the Las Vegas and Henderson areas offer discounted sports physicals, some of which are available on a walk-in basis.
Basketball
Basketball intramurals will be offered beginning the week of September 14, 2026, in the Mannion gym after school at 2:00 PM (see schedule linked below for dates). Intramurals in September and October are open for all Mannion students that would like to participate. Intramurals in November are only for Mannion students who have completed their Aktivate registrations.
Basketball tryouts for boys and girls begin on Monday, November 16, 2026. Please see the 2026 Basketball Tryout & Intramural Schedule for more information. Students who have not completed an Aktivate registration, including a sports physical, will not be allowed to participate in tryouts.
All student athletes are reminded that grades, citizenship, school behavior, sportsmanship, attitude, and skills are variables that will be reviewed by coaches and administration prior to the selection of the teams.
Table Tennis
CCSD middle schools will participate in competitive table tennis during the winter sports season. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
Athletic Eligibility Information
Information regarding eligibility requirements is listed on the CCSD Middle School Athletic Eligibility document. All student-athletes must meet the academic eligibility requirements, and students participating in CCSD athletics must also meet the residency and guardianship requirements.
Mannion’s student-athletes are expected to demonstrate a positive representation of our school. Student-athletes and parents are asked to review Mannion’s expectations for student-athletes.
