Greetings,
In accordance with CCSD Regulation 5121, Mannion Middle School maintains numerous schoolwide policies regarding grading scale categories, late work, opportunities for reassessment, and school issued ChromeBooks. In addition, Mannion utilizes a schoolwide Citizenship Rubric.
At the end of Quarter 1, it became apparent that the wording on the school’s Citizenship Rubric did not reward or encourage students to complete missing work. Obviously, this was not our intent. At the October 6 Parent Community Partnership Meeting the wording was discussed, and after collaboration with teacher leaders, the schoolwide Citizenship Rubric was clarified.
All links to the Citizenship Rubric remain active and represent the most recent updates, but our immediate goal is to make sure the changes are brought to the attention of our students and parents. Specifically, the change combines the permissible number of “late” and “missing assignments” so a student, in the event the assignment is not completed, is encouraged to turn the missing assignment into a late assignment without negatively impacting citizenship. Thank you for your support of Mannion Middle School!
Go Mustangs!
