Happy Holidays!
At tonight’s parent meeting a number of families asked for additional information about next week, so I wanted to make sure the information was clear to everyone regarding MAPs Testing, Semester Exams, and Holiday Activities.
MAPs Testing:
Students will take the second MAPs assessment (we are looking to see academic growth) on December 13 & 14. Students will take the assessment during their first period class unless they were told otherwise or assigned to another teacher. For MAPs, students need a fully charged ChromeBook, a pencil, and a book to read.
Semester Exams & Half-Days:
Middle school students no longer have half days on the last three days of the semester. As a result, Mannion will follow a traditional bell schedule on December 15, December 16, and December 17. Only students enrolled in a high school credit course (Geometry, Algebra, Spanish I or Spanish II) will participate in a semester exam. Middle school courses no longer have a semester exam.
Holiday Festivities:
Classroom Holiday and lunchroom parties are not permitted; however, Student Council has organized a Spirit Week for students to show their holiday spirit. The following dress up activities are approved:
- Monday: Holiday Socks & Holiday Hats
- Tuesday: Merry Christmas from the Family (Wear your matching flannel shirts)
- Wednesday: Clash of the Carolers (6th Grade = Green; 7th Grade = Blue; 8th Grade = Red)
- Thursday: The Sweater Outside is Frightful (wear your ugly/cute holiday sweater)
- Friday: Silent night (Pajama Day)
I wish the entire Mannion Community a wonderful winter break and look forward to seeing our students return on January 5, 2022.
Go Mustangs!
