Greetings,
This morning I had an opportunity to meet with representatives from CCSD’s Safe Routes to Schools, CCSD Police, City of Henderson, and Henderson Police to discuss traffic issues in front of Mannion Middle School. The meeting took place between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. We met on the grass area by Paradise Hills and Skyline. While I will share the finalized outcomes of the meeting in the next few days, we have received numerous concerns from parents and students regarding information as to why the police were on campus this morning.
Whenever the police are on campus, for whatever reason, is a positive thing. When the police are on campus, we are always safer than when they are not on campus. The police are always welcome at Mannon Middle School.
Know that this administration takes school safety seriously. Whenever there is a credible concern in the community or at this school, I will utilize ParentLink to communicate to parents. I value parent communication, and believe it is the foundation to a positive relationship between the school and the parents at home. This is why, based on the phone calls we received throughout the day, I am emailing you information about today’s traffic meeting before I have specific traffic updates to share.
Your child may come home today and tell you that there were police on campus. Your child is correct. The police were on campus this morning.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email me at PeterTC@nv.ccsd.net.
Go Mustangs!
