Greetings!
I would like to let you know that on Thursday, September 26, the Board of Trustees of the Clark County School District approved the calendars for 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years.
Please note that some changes in the calendars have been made when compared to the current 2019-2020 year. The changes were made considering set schedules for student testing, state championships, as well as new requirements by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE).
- Students will attend school on the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week 2020 and 2021. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will continue to be days off/holidays for that week. To clarify, this change starts next year.
- The school year was extended by one week to fit in academic and athletic calendars. Please check the calendar for exact dates.
- Three contingency days are now spread throughout the school year to provide more alternatives for students to be able to make up instructional time, should this be needed due to weather conditions and other potential interruptions of the instructional calendar.
We will continue sharing information and reminders on the school calendars with you, but these changes will soon be reflected on our school’s calendar for 20-21 and 20-22 that is available on the website.
The calendars are currently available at ccsd.net/district/review for your review.
Please utilize these calendars to plan vacations for the next two years. Student absences, regardless of the reason, can negatively impact our state issued report card and star rating.
In addition, a discussion about these calendars will be on the agenda at our next Parent Community Partnership Meeting scheduled for October 10 at 5:30 PM in the Mannion Library. I hope to see you there!
Enjoy your weekend!
Go Mustangs!
