Greetings,
Please see the updates and reminders below regarding basketball intramurals, tryouts, registration due dates, and athletic eligibility for the upcoming basketball season.
Basketball Intramurals and Tryouts
Please see the 2024 Basketball Tryout & Intramural Schedule for updated dates and times. Some of the dates have changed since this information was first posted.
Basketball tryouts begin on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Students must complete their Aktivate registration (see below) by October 28, 2024, to participate in tryouts. Students who come to tryouts but are not complete in Aktivate will not be permitted to participate in tryouts.
Intramurals are continuing through October, and are open for all students that would like to participate. Intramurals in late October and November are only for students who have completed their Aktivate registrations. Starting October 28, 2024, students without a completed Aktivate registration will not be able to participate in intramurals.
All student athletes are reminded that grades, citizenship, school behavior, sportsmanship, attitude, and skills are variables that will be reviewed by coaches and administration prior to the selection of the teams.
Registration for Student-Athletes
Students who plan to try out for basketball, soccer, or volleyball in the 2024-2025 school year must be registered online by a parent through aktivate.com prior to tryouts. Please see the Aktivate Student-Athlete Registration Instructions guide for more information. Detailed instructions for using Aktivate are provided at Parent/Guardian Step-by-Step Guide to Aktivate or Guía paso a paso para padres o tutores para registrar un atleta en Aktivate.
A sports physical is required for all students before participating in tryouts. The CCSD Physical Form can be downloaded here or within Aktivate. Several health centers and hospitals in the Las Vegas and Henderson areas offer discounted sports physicals, some of which are available on a walk-in basis.
Athletic Eligibility Information
Information regarding eligibility requirements is listed on the CCSD Middle School Athletic Eligibility document. All student-athletes must meet the academic eligibility requirements, and students participating in flag football, basketball, or soccer must also meet the residency and guardianship requirements.
Mannion’s student-athletes are expected to demonstrate a positive representation of our school. Student-athletes and parents are asked to review Mannion’s expectations for student-athletes.
