Greetings,
I am happy to report that today was a great first day! As always, there were some challenges, but our staff and students persevered and we are ready to take on any and all challenges.
A few reminders as we move forward:
- Starting Tuesday, please begin to establish a routine where your student brings home the ChromeBook, charges it for the evening, and returns with it fully charged the following day. Establishing this routine will benefit your student immensely.
- Students who still need a ChromeBook must return the required papers to their first period teacher. Once received, the ChromeBook is issued before the end of the school day.
- CCSD Mobile Device Agreement (Requires Signature)
- Mannion ChromeBook Contact & Cost Guide (Requires Signature)
- Those driving to pick up or drop off students, please keep in mind the following:
- Mannion is an active school zone when students are present. Please do not speed and do not pass other vehicles.
- U-Turns are illegal in any school zone.
- Please do not park on Skyline Street closest to Mannion Middle School. When you park, you block the right turn lane, and this causes challenges in our efforts to help cars exit Skyline onto Paradise Hills Drive.
- Please complete student drop off and pick up against the curb, and please do not double park in the street or in the school’s driveway.
- The front driveway of the school is single lane. Please do not pass cars on the left who are waiting to exit out of the school’s driveway. Traffic Control will not grant us a double turn lane, so we are not permitted to make one on our own.
- While PE Uniforms are not required this week, we will sell PE Uniforms for $20 cash on Wednesday, August 9. If you still need to purchase PE uniforms, please have your student bring $20 cash to class. The student will bring home the PE uniform and a receipt.
- Fall MAPs Assessment will take place during students’ ELA and Math class on August 15 through August 17. Students will use their CCSD ChromeBook, so please make sure it is fully charged.
- Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend Thursday’s Parent Community Partnership Meeting at 5:30 PM to learn more about Mannion Middle School and meet the school’s administration.
Thank you to all of our students and families for a wonderful first day of school!
Go Mustangs!
