Dear Parent/Guardians,
Members of the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission (AZAC) are currently evaluating the attendance boundaries of Clark County School District southeast area middle schools.
The goal of evaluating the southeast area middle school attendance boundaries is to improve feeder school alignment between elementary and middle schools, better balance area enrollments as well as eliminating the Thurman White Middle School attendance boundary to accommodate for full magnet school conversion. Please note that attendance zone changes at middle schools will be considered with a phasing option, only reassigning the incoming 6th grade students.
AZAC is currently in the initial phase of this process, the Consideration Phase. During this phase, Focus Areas are identified for possible rezoning and various scenario ideas are presented at a public AZAC meeting. The scenarios that have been developed for this area will be presented on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 9:30 am in the Board Room of the Edward A. Greer Education Center, 2832 East Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend this meeting to provide comments. If you are unable to attend, comments may be mailed to: AZAC, Demographics, Zoning and GIS, 1180 Military Tribute, Henderson, NV 89074. Comments may also be emailed to: AZAC@interact.ccsd.net.
During the next phase of the process, proposals are presented at an evening public input meeting that will be scheduled in January 2018. After the evening public input meetings, AZAC will make formal recommendations to the Board of School Trustees in February 2018.
Additional information regarding this Focus Area, current scenarios, meeting dates and the AZAC process is available on the AZAC website at AZAC.CCSD.net.
