Greetings!
I hope you are enjoying summer and excited for your student to enter 6th grade! Please take a few minutes to carefully read the information in this email – it has a lot of important details for August. In addition, this email is being sent to only 1 parent of each child (It is an individualized email, so we are limited in the family members who receive it). We are asking the family member who receives this email to share it with all necessary parents/guardians in the family.
2025-2026 6th Grade Academic Placement Information:
Mannion Middle School uses a series of data points to place incoming 6th grade students in the correct level classes.
The available data points include:
-
5th grade fall/winter/spring MAP assessment data
-
5th grade fall semester report card data
In addition, these additional data points may be used in August to verify proper placement:
-
5th grade SBAC data
-
5th grade spring semester report card data
The purpose of this email is to share how your student placed for next year in math, English language arts (ELA), and science as well as the elective placement for your student based on selection and availability.
The placement results for your child are as follows: See Individual Email sent on June 5, 2025
Students who did not complete the 25-26 Elective form were assigned an elective based on availability. At this time, electives may not be changed.
If you feel there is an error in your student’s core academic course (non elective) placement, please visit our school’s website to complete the 2025-2026 Course Challenge Request at:
https://mannionmiddleschool.com/course-challenge-request/
6th Grade Orientation Update:
As previously promoted, Mannion Middle School will host a 6th Grade Orientation from 9 AM until 2 PM on August 4, 2025. This event is only for 6th grade students, but there is a parent meeting in the gym at 1:30 PM and then time for your 6th grader to show you around from 2 PM – 3 PM (This is the best time to bring locker items so your student doesn’t have to carry them with him or her during Orientation.).
According to our records, your status for the 6th Grade Orientation is: See Individual Email sent on June 5, 2025
If you haven’t RSVPd for 6th Grade Orientation on August 4, 2025, please click this link to complete your RSVP prior to July 1, 2025. July 1 is the last day to register and guarantee a t-shirt in the preferred size.
6th Grade ChromeBook Distribution:
All Mannion students will receive a CCSD ChromeBook for the 25-26 school year. To alleviate long distribution wait times, we are asking parents/guardians to RSVP for specific time slots to pick up the school issued ChromeBook. 6th Grade Deployment will take place on August 4, 2025 (During 6th Grade Orientation) or in the evenings on August 5 (5 PM – 7 PM) or August 7 (5 PM – 7 PM).
Appointment Times for 6th Grade ChromeBook Deployment
Each time slot is 30 minutes in length with approximately 50 families per time slot. If your first choice is unavailable, this form will direct you to make another selection.
Families with multiple 6th grade students at Mannion only need to sign up using one student’s name, but know that we will issue the ChromeBooks for all members of the household at one time. There is a separate sign up for 7th/8th grade students on August 5, 2025, so if you have students in both 6th grade and 7th/8th grade, I suggest you sign up for a time slot on 7th/8th Grade ChromeBook Distribution, not 6th Grade Orientation Day (each 6th grader will get his or her schedule and locker as part of the day’s activities, but the older student will not be able to get it until August 5, 2025).
If you are able to print and complete this paperwork PRIOR to ChromeBook Distribution, it will assist and limit wait times.
CCSD Mobile Device Agreement (Requires Signature)
Mannion ChromeBook Contact & Cost Guide (Requires Signature)
Students who do not pick up a ChromeBook at these available times will need to bring the signed paperwork on the first day of school so they can receive their ChromeBook on the second day of school.
Complete OnLine Registration for 25-26:
Please be sure to complete your OLR (OnLine Registration) through the Campus Portal. This is where you update your emergency contact information, email for ParentLink, and phone numbers. This is critical to ensure effective parent and school communication throughout the school year. If you have not already updated your OLR, please do so before July 1, 2025.
6th Grade Supply Lists:
Mannion Middle School will post the 2025-2026 School Supply List on the website. These lists are available under both the drop down menu of “Parents” or “Students” and organized by grade. Things may change, but this gives families an idea for supplies to take advantage of summer sales.
Registration for Student-Athletes:
Students who plan to try out for flag football, cross country, basketball, soccer and/or volleyball in the 2025-2026 school year must be registered online by a parent through aktivate.com (this site used to be known as Register My Athlete). Additional information about our fall sports, Flag Football and Cross Country, is available here:
Flag football & cross country intramural and tryout information is available on the Mannion Website under Athletics & Spirit Groups. Please review the flag football intramural and tryout schedule as well as the cross country intramural and tryout schedule. In preparation for tryouts, please make sure your Aktivate is completed prior to August 8, 2025.
Cheer tryouts have been scheduled for September 5, 2025. Mandatory cheer clinics will take place on September 2 through September 4 to prepare students for tryouts. Aktivate is NOT required for cheer tryouts, but it is required if the student is selected for the squad.
Register Student’s Bike, Skateboard or Scooter:
All Mannion students who park a bike, skateboard, or scooter in the designated area must register their item prior to the first day of school. Each student will receive an assigned “space” to park the item. Students are required to bring a lock and park their item in the appropriately assigned space. Please use this link to register your bike, skateboard, or scooter for the 25-26 school year:
