Mannion Middle School is committed to CCSD’s Strategic Plan – Focus: 2024. Priority Area 3 of the plan is to increase access and equity to rigorous curriculum and instruction for all students. Mannion supports CCSD’s Course Progression Guide aligned with enrollment criteria in English language arts (ELA), math, science, and social studies. The following criteria are evaluated to make the decisions regarding student enrollment in accelerated courses. If the student meets these requirements, the student is automatically enrolled in accelerated courses:
- SBAC score of level 3 or 4 in the content area from the previous grade level
- Fall/Winter MAP Growth RIT Score representing the 70th percentile or higher
- Fall Semester Grade
In the event the above criteria does not reflect the student’s best effort, additional data, upon request of the student or parent, will be reviewed prior to the start of the school year (August). Additional Data includes:
- SBAC Score from the end of year summative assessment
- Spring MAP Growth RIT Score
- Spring Semester Grade
- Letters of Recommendation from teachers
Parents/Guardians who disagree with CCSD’s placement may request Parents requesting a further review of their student’s data and that their student be placed in either accelerated class(es) or placed in grade level class(es) should complete the online form below.
