Greetings,
Just a reminder that Mannion Middle School will allow students and staff to wear costumes on October 31, 2018. The guidelines for costumes are very clear and will be enforced. To ensure your student is not disappointed on Halloween, please be sure to review the guidelines and expectations for costumes. They are available by CLICKING HERE.
After school on October 31, Student Council will host the Halloween Dance & Carnival. The event is free for students to attend, but food booths and games sponsored by clubs do cost money. You may want to give your student $5-$10 if they plan to attend the event. The event will be over at 3:15 PM. Also, to support the dance and carnival, there will be no Basketball Intramurals on October 31.
Also, the Be Kind Club will collect any leftover and unwanted candy on November 1 and November 2. Be Kind Members will have buckets to collect the candy before school and in the Community Center. Some of the collected candy will be used in a Veterans Day Parade and some of the collected candy will be sold to a local dentist to fund the Community Center. We will also collect candy during these days in the main office if parents wish to “drop it off” rather than send their student to school with a bag full of candy and the hopes the student remembers to donate it. Don’t worry, kids. Mrs. Petersen doesn’t trust me to turn in our leftover candy, either.
I wish everyone a Happy & Safe Halloween!
Go Mustangs!
Todd C. Petersen, Principal
