Greetings,
Mannion Middle School will provide the student body with the opportunity to wear their Halloween costumes during distance learning on Thursday, October 29. This letter is to share with students and parents the expectations for costumes. If your child plans on dressing up on October 29, please take a moment to discuss the expectations with him/her. Please understand that we want the children to have fun, but it is still a school day and we want to ensure that quality instruction is still able to take place.
Absolutely NO simulated weapons of any kind. No pretend swords, guns, grenades, knives, etc. Nothing that could possibly be perceived as a weapon or simulated weapon is allowed. A Harry Potter wand is permitted.
Student costumes need to be respectful of body images and should not emphasize negative stereotypes of any person, gender, ethnicity. Cultural sensitivity is required.
Costumes must comply with CCSD and Mannion dress code. No short shorts or skirts, revealing tops, etc. Please use good judgment.
No gang related attire allowed. Dressing up like a “gangster” will not be allowed.
Thank you for taking the time to discuss these expectations with your children. We truly appreciate the time our Mannion families invest in their child’s education.
Happy Nevada Day & Happy Halloween!
Sincerely,
Mannion Middle School Administration
