Mannion Parents and Students,On Tuesday, August 19, Wednesday, August 20, and Thursday, August 21, students will be participating in the Fall MAP test. Students will complete the mathematics test in their math class over the course of the three days, and the reading test will be taken in their English class.Teachers at Mannion will use the results of the MAP assessment to monitor growth and make instructional decisions, so we appreciate parents’ support in encouraging students to take these assessments seriously. Students will need to bring the following items to their math and English classes:Chromebook (fully charged)PencilBook to readIf a student misses a day of testing or is otherwise unable to complete the tests in three days, the math or English teacher will have the student complete the test in class during the following week.If you have any questions regarding MAP testing please email Mr. Stork at storkzm@nv.ccsd.net.Mr. Stork, Assistant Principal

The 6th Grade Welcome to Middle School Dance will take place on Friday, August 22, from 2:15-3:15 PM in the Mannion cafeteria. This is a great way for 6th graders to have some supervised fun with their new classmates after school. Tickets are $3.00 and will be sold near the 6th grade hallway before and after school on Monday through Friday of this week. Tickets are also available for purchase in the main office at other times. Snacks and drinks will be available at the dance for $1.00 each. Students who attend the dance will leave their backpacks and other belongings in their lockers prior to entering the dance. Students will not have a place to change into other clothes after school, and should simply wear the outfit that they wear to school that day (this is more of a fun party with a DJ rather than a high school homecoming dance). Parents, please be ready to pick up your child promptly at 3:15, and make a plan for where this pickup will occur since the parking lot will be busy. There will not be a late bus available on Friday, August 22. Go Mustangs!
