Greetings,
It is my pleasure to share that Mannion Middle School received 85 points (out of possible 100) on the Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF). Mannion received the highest possible star rating – five stars! This score, a reflection on the 2024-2025 school year, allows Mannion to boast that we are, once again, the highest scoring comprehensive middle school in the City of Henderson.
I want to recognize our staff for this accomplishment. The teachers who work at Mannion are some of the most talented teachers I have ever seen. I am amazed by the work they do, and they inspire our students to work hard to achieve great results. The teachers are supported by our many support professionals – the office staff, custodians, campus security monitors, and classroom aides, who strive to meet the needs of our teachers, students and community.
I want to congratulate the Mannion students for this accompl;ishment. This is our highest score in the past decade and it would not have been possible without the hard work of last year’s 1500 students who lowered chronic absenteeism by 5% and increased student achievement in ELA by 4.6% and increased student achievement in math by 5.6%. We promised our students an SBAC Incentive, and we are still finalizing the details to deliver on this promise. Students who earned a 4 (highest possible level) or demonstrated 100 points of growth in ELA would receive Canes. In addition, students who earned a 4 (highest possible level) or 75 points of growth in math would also receive Canes. I am proud to announce that 782 students earned the SBAC incentive recognition – an increase of 199 students from the previous year!
I want to congratulate our community and thank you for your support of the work we do at Mannion Middle School. I am grateful for the faith and trust you place in our teachers and staff to provide your children with the best possible education. I hope we have made you proud to send your children to Mannion Middle School.
While the purpose of this email is to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of last year, know that the bar has been set high for this school year. As I walk the halls and observe classrooms, I can assure you that nobody is taking anything for granted. Our students have embraced, “Be A Mustang: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.” I see this in the classroom, in the hallways, and even in the cafeteria.
Congratulations to the staff and students for this amazing accomplishment – you earned it!
Go Mustangs!
