Greetings 8th Grade Families,
The Attendance Zone Advisory Commission (AZAC) flyer is for the upcoming public input meeting scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Lyal Burkholder Academy of Environmental Science. At this meeting, members of the public will be given an opportunity to provide input prior to AZAC reaching a final zoning recommendation on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., in the Edward A. Greer Education Center, Boardroom, located at 2832 E. Flamingo Road.
The primary reason for this rezoning evaluation is to improve middle school to high school feeder alignment. Students residing north of I-215 must travel south, across I-215, to get to Foothill High School. This would allow the majority of middle school students in the area to attend Green Valley High School with their cohort group. This area is closer to Green Valley HS, potentially providing a safer route to school. This rezoning evaluation would also provide feeder alignment for students residing south of Wagonwheel Drive and east of I-11/US-93/95.
With the zoning recommendation, AZAC may choose to recommend grandfathering of currently enrolled students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 within the reassigned areas. Therefore, only incoming Grade 9 students and newly-enrolled students to the areas would be reassigned each year.
This proposal would reassign currently enrolled Grade 8 students.

Thank You!
