Hello Mannion Family,
Please see the updates and reminders below regarding basketball intramurals, tryouts, registration due dates, and athletic eligibility for the upcoming basketball season.
Basketball Intramurals and Tryouts
Please see the 2025 Basketball Tryout and Intramural Schedule for remaining dates and times. Intramurals taking place for the remainder of October are open for all students who would like to participate. Intramurals taking place the week of November 3rd are for students who have completed his/her Aktivate registration (see below for more information).
Basketball tryouts begin Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Please review the schedule for the correct day and time depending on grade level/team. Students must have completed their Aktivate registration in order to participate in tryouts, including his/her physical evaluation. Students will not be permitted to tryout if they do not have that paperwork turned in.
All student athletes are reminded that grades, citizenship, school behavior, sportsmanship, attitude, and skills are variables that will be reviewed by coaches and administration prior to the selection of the teams.
Aktivate Registration
Students who plan to try out for basketball, or any student who is interested in trying out for soccer, or volleyball later this school year must be registered online by a parent through aktivate.com. Please see the Aktivate Student-Athlete Registration Instructions guide for more information. Detailed instructions for using Aktivate are provided at Parent/Guardian Step-by-Step Guide to Aktivate or Guía paso a paso para padres o tutores para registrar un atleta en Aktivate.
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, a $10 registration fee has been added to the Aktivate registration process. During the 2024-2025 school year, Mannion paid over $7,000 toward the costs of transportation and officials for sporting events. The $10 fee will be used to help cover the costs of Mannion’s athletic programs.
A sports physical is required for all students before participating in tryouts. The CCSD Physical Form can be downloaded here or within Aktivate. Several health centers and hospitals in the Las Vegas and Henderson areas offer discounted sports physicals, some of which are available on a walk-in basis. Students without a completed sports physical will not be allowed to participate in tryouts.
Athletic Eligibility Information
Information regarding eligibility requirements is listed on the CCSD Middle School Athletic Eligibility document. All student-athletes must meet the academic eligibility requirements, and students participating in flag football, basketball, or soccer must also meet the residency and guardianship requirements. Mannion’s student-athletes are expected to demonstrate a positive representation of our school. Student-athletes and parents are asked to review Mannion’s expectations for student-athletes.
