Greetings,The City of Henderson is partnering with local schools and community partners to offer free hands-on safety and skills workshops for students who ride bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters. 3 events,In accordance with Nevada State Law NRS 392.420, postural (scoliosis) screenings will be conducted by school nurses for students in Grade 6 (females) and Grade 8 (males). The purpose of these screenings is to identify any signs of abnormal spinal development, allowing for appropriate follow-up treatment if needed.During the screening, boys and girls will be assessed separately. Privacy will be maintained within the constraints of the school setting.You will only be notified if a potential abnormality is observed and follow-up care is necessary. Please note that this screening does not replace the need for your child’s regular health care check-ups.If you prefer that your child does not participate in the postural screening this year, please notify the school nurse in writing.
