Scoliosis Screening – 6th Grade Girls & 8th Grade Boys

In accordance with Nevada State Law NRS 392.420, postural (scoliosis) screenings will be conducted by school nurses for students in Grade 6 (females) and Grade 8 (males).  The purpose of these screenings is to identify any signs of abnormal spinal development, allowing for appropriate follow-up treatment if needed.

During the screening, boys and girls will be assessed separately. Privacy will be maintained within the constraints of the school setting.

You will only be notified if a potential abnormality is observed and follow-up care is necessary. Please note that this screening does not replace the need for your child’s regular health care check-ups.
