DESCRIPTION:One student wishing to serve on the Mannion School Organization Team (SOT) may nominate themselves by completing this survey.  Nominations will remain open until October 13\, 2023 (5:00 PM).  Once all nominations are verified only the names of the candidates\, current grade\, and their responses to two brief questions will be electronically distributed to students who will be provided an opportunity to vote. \nThe role of the SOT is: \n1.  Assist and advise the principal in the development of the Plan of Operation.\n2.  Assist and advise the principal in carrying out the Plan of Operation.\n3.  Assist with the selection of a new principal when there is a vacancy.\n4.  Student representative\, like the principal\, is a non-voting member of the SOT. \nRequirements to serve on the Mannion SOT: \n1.  Must be a student attending Mannion Middle School during the 23-24 school year.\n2.  Serve between October\, 2023\, and September\, 2024 (8th grade students may have to resign in August\, 2024 – this is understandable and should not be a reason not to serve).\n3.  Attend and participate in meetings (once a month) on dates and times selected by a majority of the SOT members.  Per guidelines\, these meeting must be outside of the school day (after 3:30 PM).\n4.  Work to build consensus amongst all SOT members and make decisions to vote with the entire school population in mind. \nFor more information about the responsibilities of the School Organizational Team\, please visit the website https://sites.google.com/nv.ccsd.net/reorg and/or contact the school principal\, Mr. Petersen\, at PeterTC@nv.ccsd.net.  You may also contact the school by calling 702-799-3020\, ext. 4100. \nIf you are interested in serving\, please click here to complete this survey prior to Friday\, October 13\, 2023. \nMr. Petersen\, Principal

DESCRIPTION:Clark County School District has received a $15 million grant from the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) to implement new Environmental Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math magnet programs at Carroll M. Johnston Middle School and Lyal Burkholder Middle School beginning the 2024-2025 school year. This results in the need to dissolve the current Burkholder MS attendance zone. However\, currently enrolled 6th and 7th grade students will be Grandfathered to remain for 7th and 8th grade at Burkholder MS\, with all incoming 6th grade students going through the magnet lottery process. \nThis area is scheduled to be discussed at the next AZAC meeting at 9:30 a.m.\, Tuesday\, October 17\, at the Edward A. Greer Education Center Boardroom.  Information about the AZAC process and all data provided will be made available at http://azac.ccsd.net.
